The interest of this study was to understand if teacher preparation programs could be used to encourage pre-service teachers to pursue a career working in urban schools. The reason for this is that many highly educated teachers prefer to avoid working in urban schools which have seen a high rise in racial diversity. Because of this, teachers have had to be found from non-traditional sources.
