Culture was an important part of the aboriginal’s lives. The atrocities committed by the European settlers impacted the lives of many in our country. The settlers begun by forcing young children to attend their schools to deprive them of their culture. Later, enforcing the English and French language which led to the assimilation of the aboriginal people’s language.
