The residential school was built by the government to erase the Indigenous culture out of our society and force them to all be Canadian. Their culture was not wanted by the government and the Christian church, so they had to find a way to eliminate their culture. These residential schools were forcing the young kids to pray, dress accordingly to their liking and even change their own language in school territory. The way they were treated is shocking.
