As we all know residential schools were religious schools established by the government to assimilate Indigenous children into Euro-Canadian culture. Christian churches and the Canadian government established residential schools to educate and convert Indigenous children as well as absorb them into Canadian society. The schools, on the other hand, disturbed lives, and communities, resulting in long-term issues for Indigenous peoples.
