Ever since the tragedy of 9/11, sentiments of hatred towards Muslims have been on the rise in North America. This is no coincidence: politicians have used this tragedy in order to support and justify their own personal racist and islamophobic agenda in the name of public safety and perpetuated harmful stereotypes.
