A Safe Haven for Insects

On our peaceful visit to the garden, one structure in particular stood out to me. At first, it seemed simple, but the more I looked at it, the more I realized how important it was. It is a beautifully man-made structure made up of natural materials such as sticks. The stinging leaf located in the middle is called a nettle. The nettle is put there in order to prevent humans from ruining and interfering with their environment. Along with providing protection from humans, nettle also serves as an essential food source for many caterpillars and butterflies.
