In this section of the book there are several emotions expressed. The strongest emotion I found present was fear. Fear is demonstrated heavily within the characters and the society they live in that uses fear to control those who want to think for themselves. For example, Mildred demonstrates fear a couple times in this section of the book and we can see how easily she is manipulated by it. Without fear this society would crumble because people would start exploring, thinking and realize what kind of world they are living in.
