On February 28th, during Free Block, there was the Block Party organized by BLAM for the end of Black History Month. There were a lot of stands, they all explored different parts of black culture. Either through cultural food, music, or history. As one of the volunteers for BLAM, I held the stand for African-American History. Fun fact, did you know that month was chosen because it coincided with the birthday of Abraham Lincoln on February 12 and of Frederick Douglass on February 14, Black communities had celebrated both dates together since the late 19th century.
