The beginning of the chapter talks about how resentment can still remain even if you come to a resolution. If someone betrays you, you will never trust them as much as you did before. This is not always bad because if someone betrayed you once, they can always do it again. You are never sure of what someone has in mind and you can not plan anyone’s actions beforehand. Since you can not plan anyone’s actions, you can not force them to be good, they will always be guided by their Virtue. Therefore, you should believe that people’s bad actions will rebound on them at some point.
