Compost is an activity that John Abbott College has already implemented on its campus. However, the awareness among students about composting is not as wide as it should be. Effectively, students often do not use compost properly, which results in the contamination of compost and in consequence it cannot be used. Compost has many benefits including reducing the quantity of waste brought to landfills, it introduces valuable organisms to the soil, increases the nutrients in the soil and is better for the environment to use than chemicals.
