In the short story “The Flower” by Walker Alice focuses on the loss of innocence. The main character Myop loss her innocence when she was going for a stroll but ended up stepping and looking at a dead man’s body. Yes, seeing a dead body can make you lose your innocence but there is no recognition of who the dead body was and what had happened to the innocent man.
