Did a truck really save a plane?

I would like to be a mechanical engineer in my life, so I am interested about mechanical posts and all articles relying to it. By example, according to snopes.com, an advertisement had been published in 2011 showing a Nissan truck rescue a plane from crashing. The plane was not able to land and stop, because it had a mechanical problem during flight and was not able to brake anymore.
