Earth Is Alive - The Gaia Hypothesis

The Gaia Hypothesis is a theory proposed by James Lovelock which states that our planet not only inhabits living creatures, but it also is a complex living organism itself. The hypothesis points out the fact that our planet’s atmosphere has maintained a stable state over millions of years and suggests that all life on Earth represents a single living entity which contributes to Earth’s stability. It also claims that Earth can sometimes help the living creatures out and sometimes kill them ruthlessly.
