I was confused after reading that section of the book. It took me several readings to understand what the author was trying to explain. Consequently, I came to the conclusion that her way of describing herself as "unbreakable" is primarily due to how she was raised. From the beginning of the book, we saw that self-sufficiency and resilience are the primary values of the family.
