Scientist have created a substance that colour the brain cancer cells with the function of removing them from patients and help surgeons to identify between cancer cells and healthy tissue. This substance is call 5-ALA and it has an effect when the patient has a high grade of gliomas. Researcher found out that brain cancer cells get the pink colour of the substance 5-ALA because of the enzyme (proteins) that try to destroy the chemical.
