INF treaty: Do we really need nuclear treaties?

When the United states first dropped atomic bomb on Japan, everything changed. A few years later Russia developed weapons of its own and in the cold war that followed the world lived in the fear of nuclear conflict. Russia and the United States were eventually compelled to sing a treaty avoid catastrophe.
