Indigenous people in Canada are also referred to as Aboriginal Canadians or First Peoples. Indigenous people have three categories in Canada: Inuit, Metis, and First Nations. Inuit mostly occupy the northern regions of Canada. Their homeland includes most of the land, water, and ice in the Arctic region which is known as Nunangat. Metis people are found in Prairie provinces, Ontario, and other regions of Canada. These people are of mixed European and Indigenous ancestry. First Nation people conquer territories south of the Arctic. They were real residents of the land which is Canada.
