Jehovah’s Witness children in a life-or-death situation

Jehovah’s Witnesses are members of a Christian-based religion. Their beliefs prohibit them from receiving blood transfusions even if their life depends on it because they believe the Bible prohibits the consumption of blood (Melton). However, what were to happen if a child needed blood to survive? Ethical rationalism states that reason determines what is right and wrong and that a person must complete their duty no matter what. Therefore, ethical rationalism is used to show that doctors have a moral obligation to save the child no matter the situation.
