In China, history is one of the compulsory courses for students registered in secondary school, but many students struggle to learn it. In the traditional classroom, students who are unable to correctly identify the time, places and characters involved in historical events suffer from being punished by teachers. History should have been a window for students to know about the world in the past. However, students are losing interests to learn it due to inflexible pedagogical method, which also hinders the professional development of this field in a long run.
