I very much enjoyed the discussion in the conference by Elder Wendy Williams and several others about the importance and the necessity for Indigenous knowledge and knowing during these climate change debates. It is disheartening to see the Black, Indigenous and people of colour activists who are being thrown in jail, murdered, silenced and repressed by national and transnational forces, while state leaders such as Justin Trudeau are marching in climate strikes.
