Life under a stump

Last Thursday, I had the opportunity to explore Vanier College’s very own garden. Our guide was very generous to let us students explore the garden on our own, which gave us the chance to look at every little detail of the garden. As I was exploring, I was lucky enough to stumble upon a little ant colony under a stump. What made this even more amazing was that this was where they had nested their soon-to-be newborns added to their colony. Seeing this made me realize how wonderful the garden really is, and how it preserves all life, even the tiniest ones.
