Before my modern science class and my participation in a class colloquium, I had no idea who Linus Pauling was. After doing further research, I learned a lot from the many obstacles Pauling went through and what he accomplished. I also gained further awareness of the political and social matters in which nuclear weapons are involved, and how this can impact society and the scientific community.
