Sufism is a type of Islamic mysticism that emphasizes introspection and spiritual closeness with God. Despite criticism from other Islamic religious groups, Sufism traditions significantly impact the cultures in which they live. This is evident in the music and Sufi shrines in many Muslim communities worldwide.
