Laura Payton’s article “Martin Couture-Rouleau case underscores passport seizure dilemma” published on October 21st, 2014 on CBC News, is about Martin (Ahmad) Couture-Rouleau, a suspected extremist, who had his passport taken away because of the possibility he was going to take part in a terrorist act overseas. Officers could not detain him as they did not have enough evidence, so the only thing they could do was to prevent him from leaving the country. A couple months later, he was involved in a hit and run where he killed a soldier of the Canadian Forces.
