This article that I chose hits very close to home, as I have a Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO) which is a hole that never closed in my heart from birth. I suffer from chronic migraines from it and the doctor says that it is "an express elevator to the brain for blood clots". I am on beta blockers, a staten for cholesterol and a blood thinner to keep my veins and arteries clear.
