Evangelical, and mainstream practicing Christians, believe in what is called “The book of Genesis,” the story of how God created the world in 7 days. The beautiful, lush, and green planet that has served humans for millions of years. But if these followers truly believed in this story, shouldn’t they be the first ones to protect this creation? Strikingly, out of 84 million evangelical American Christians, the majority do not believe in the threat of climate change. This is in stark contrast to their religious counterpart of Buddhism, who believe in a deep connectedness to the environment.
