Not long ago, I heard an American news moderator say, “Harris has to be flawless while Trump gets to be lawless,” which captures this election pretty accurately. Both the Democratic and Republican parties ran flawed campaigns, yet as Trump and Harris were held to two entirely different standards, the fact that Trump’s flaws pose a significantly greater threat to the future of the U.S. didn’t prevent him from winning the election.
