Immerwahr’s piece on St. Augustine cites many elements of transparency and a sense of modernism. This is quite surprising based on how historic St. Augustine’s teachings are. So many thoughts of education are based on history, such as the structure of our classroom and the progression and focus on math and science compared to the arts.
