On November the 1st, I attended a discussion about hijab rights and women’s identity. It is not a subject I was well-versed in, and it was therefore very informative and relevant for me. Many interesting topics were brought up during the conversation that really shed a light to Muslim women and the deprecating stereotypes associated with them. It was astounding to learn about the extend in which Muslim women are often at the heart of critiques about their religion and the judgement related to their choice about wearing the hijab or not.
