For my Pictures and Recordings class, we had to observe works of photography and their messages to the greater population. I immediately thought back on this post on Instagram I had seen trending during the pandemic and decided to find it and look deeper. This research resulted in this essay and this analysis of the place of women in society as well as their place within themselves truly made me reflect on my own experiences and allowed me to connect with the art displayed by the incredible artists Eli Rezkallah and Laurie Simmons.
