During our class outing to the Vanier garden, I captured a picture of this leaf. Its beautiful bright green color caught my eye. I watched it, as it fought to stay upright against the wind like the sails of a sailboat in a sea storm. I admired this leaf as it thrived, despite the insects around it having had their fair fight with it. This leaf presented a strong character, that was resilient and unafraid. As I watched it soak up the sun's rays like some sort of sun sponge, I found myself relating to it. I am no perfect green leaf, I have faced challenges, and experienced hardships in my life…
