The long-standing debate on abortion has created substantial controversy in today’s society, as it is not a black and white issue. To take this moral dilemma further, the situation presented in this text will be whether it is right or wrong to abort a fetus with a known birth defect. For instance, suppose that a woman is pregnant, and she finds out from her OB/GYN that her baby will be born with a serious, or even fatal birth defect, what is the ethical dilemma behind aborting the fetus?
