Rue de Rivoli

The rue de Rivoli is one of the most famous streets in Paris. Named after a battle Napoléon won against the Austrians in 1797, it stretches between the Place de la Concorde (think Napoléon's Obelisk) and Place de la Bastille (famous for ... well... the Bastille and the beginning of the Revolution). When I was a kid, my mother took me there to buy books at one of the few English bookstores of the city. As of April 30th, it became car free, part of Mayor Hidalgo's plan to make the capital greener.
