On Saturday, September 23, 2023, I decided to take part in the big clean-up of the Longueuil riverbanks with the Ciel et Terre association. Nearly 100 participants were present, and several groups were formed to cover a larger area. Given the various reports and articles on the subject of waste in nature, I was amazed at the amount of garbage we found. In just under 8 hours, the various teams managed to collect almost 454kg of garbage! This included 1,000 cigarettes and cigarette filters, each of which takes almost two years to decompose in nature.
