Reading So You Want to Talk About Race was a deeply personal experience for me because many of the issues discussed in the book reflect realities that I have encountered throughout my life. Although the author writes primarily from an American perspective, I found that many of her observations about race, stereotypes, and systemic barriers also apply to my experiences as a Black woman growing up in Canada.
