If used as a form of expression like memes or art then the websites can be harmless and inconsequential. But many people use these media outlets as a way to express criticism over events or people. As an example, Kanye west recently stated in an interview that he had gotten a liposuction surgery after reading comments about his weight gain posted about him on his social media accounts such as instagram and twitter.(1)
