Soul food event

On February 5th during free block, BLAM held an event where the public was given traditional Caribbean food while a guest speaker talked about Black history. I particularly enjoyed this event because Canadian Black history was spoken about and I find that too often, we ignore our own country when speaking of discrimination, slavery, activism and other subjects of high importance. During this event, MSC spoke of the goal of the group: give black women a space to feel like part of a community.
