I really resonate with Tara's realization about discovering the power of her own voice. Growing up I was very reserved which resulted in people always speaking for me. This naive/vulnerable side of me was often used against me. People I considered friends would "narrate" me as Tara says. Though, when I realized that speaking up had much greater impact than staying silent, I never and still don't ever want to go back to how I was before even though I still find myself struggling to do so from time to time.
