Over the holidays, I watched a Netflix movie called 13th, which is a documentary looking at the issue of overrepresentation of the Black community in the prisons of the United States. It was really different from my typical selection of movies that I watch over the break, including Home Alone and a Christmas Prince because of its very serious subject. However, it was intellectually stimulating and provided a profound insight into the systemic racism of the US, something that I have never explored.
