The Ecological Consequences of European Colonization

In the chapter titled "The World of Wonder" Berry demonstrate the idea that European colonial settlers and their descendants have acted as predators on the peoples and lands of North America for decades through various ways. Such as the disruption of the continent's natural harmony and balance by exploiting its resources, destroying ecosystems, and altering the natural climate. Instead of appreciating the value and beauty of the natural world, they viewed it only as a material or an obstacle to be profited off of.
