Upon seeing spring onions in the Vanier garden, I was instantly reminded of the ones grown by my family in summertime. Similarly to the Vanier garden's goals of self sustainability and giving back to the community, my grandparents grow our own crop of green onions to supply our family's restaurant. Naturally, this is only possible in the summer season when mother nature is most nurturing to her children. The Vanier garden is exemplary of mother nature in this way, nourishing the community annually before succumbing to the cold of winter and rebirthing in spring to give back once more.
