The Marrow Thieves, written by Cherie Dimaline, a Métis Canadian writer, unravels a post-apocalyptic setting where most humans have lost the ability to dream. Humanity then turns to the indigenous people of the lands, as they were seemingly not affected by the disease. As the situation between the non-dreamers called, and the native people begin to deescalate violently, the indigenous people are forced to live out of sight as they are hunted and harvested for their bone Marrow, the only substance believed to counter the deadly sickness.
