The Power of Family

Power is present in all human relationships and interactions. Power has been conceptualized as “the ability” of an individual to change the behaviour of other family members. Power operates transactionally in a family, meaning that it does not belong to an individual; rather, it is negotiated in a relationship between two or more persons. In other words, you need other people around to have power (Paulon, 2020).
