First major issue with our modern education system is the over used testing of ADHD and medicating the children to “help them focus”. Is this the right way to go about treating our students? ADHD is a real disorder but should not be diagnosed to children who are incapable of focusing in class because they are being taught “boring” knowledge. Misdiagnosing is a common issue. If we create change by modifying the type of knowledge or how we teach this knowledge, then we will be able to grasp the student’s attention and “wake them up” as Ken Robinson mentioned.
