In this image, we see a sky burial rite in Tibet. This religious ceremony is a unique type of excarnation in which the deceased bodies of Tibetans are dissected and scattered on a mountaintop to decompose or be consumed by animals, an in this case, carrion birds. This kind of burial rite is practiced not only in Tibet, but also in Bhutan, Mongolia, and some parts of India.
