A trope is a recognizable recurring element in a story. In dystopian novels such as Fahrenheit 451 tropes are used quite often. In the case of F451 a prevalent trope used was outcasts. In the book there are all the society's “normal” people and then everyone else who is different becomes an outcast of society. There are many outcasts we can identify throughout the novel such as Clarisse, Faber or Montag who becomes one when he changes his mindset.
