Having existed for over thirty years, virtual idols are finally receiving worldwide attention, after the recent emergence of several new K-pop groups featuring nonhuman members. Perhaps the most popular of them all, MAVE is a girl group from Metaverse Entertainment whose appearances were designed using CGI, but whose voices are those of real people.
