I volunteered in a hospital in Africa for a month. After approximately 24 hours of travelling and being a nervous but excited mess, I arrived at my new home. Here I would meet people who would impact my life in the most beautiful of ways yet also be exposed to some of the most heartbreaking realities of the world. This life-changing experience allowed me to see a whole new part of the world that I had only ever seen on social media or in movies. It was the bustling around of people everywhere in the city that first caught my eye. Everyone was talking to each other, lots of genuine smiles…
