We look outward because we don’t understand the importance of looking inward. We seek material, fame, money, power, health, etc… with hope that it is the shortcut to true happiness. However, we are never satisfied and thus always want more. Happiness then seems fake and unachievable. What I got from this lecture on happiness is that it can only be found within. Hoping that someone will bring you fulfillment is a waste of time, but seeking meaning and truth isn't. Looking within gives you answers that outside doesn’t.
