What about the origin of indigenous ways?

In her article about sustainability, Winona LaDuke, an Indigenous elder, says that “there is no such thing as sustainable development”. She also adds that “community is the only thing in [her] experience that is sustainable”, and thus that “indigenous ways are the only sustainable ways” – since based on community only.
